SPELLING STORIES-In order to encourage writing expression, correct grammar, and creativity, some students will be asked to write spelling stories with their weekly spelling words. I will look it over and make any suggestions for revision before each student shares it with the class. If your child is writing a spelling story that week, please make sure they turn it in to me by Wednesday, so that I can have time to look it over. Your child will be writing a story once every three weeks regardless of whether they passed their pretest or not. Thank you in advance for your support.

**Animal Presentations went well! Proud of all the students who worked hard and collaborated in our first research experience. Reports will go home as soon as it's graded.
Students have written out their research on their specific categories. Groups used multiple resources to gather information on the life cycle, diet, habitat, physical characteristics, species survival, and special facts of their animal. Students put together a report folder, and one group presented their project with a powerpoint slideshow.
**We are currently at 100% for our class for our pledge drive. Thank you to all families who have donated. This funds many activities-P.E., Computer Lab, etc. that are important to your child's education. The students will be thrilled, and we will celebrate with an ice-cream party in the near future-TBA.
**FUN FRIDAY-Students who complete their homework in its entirety all week and show good behavior will be able to participate in Fun Friday. Students may bring 1 item from home (game, toy). No electronics allowed. Please make sure your child has their calendar activities complete and their reading challenge sheet, as well, in their homework folder.
**20 Book Reading Challenge: Students have started this challenge to see who can read 20 books. Students will keep their recording sheet in a plastic cover in their homework folder. I am asking that you, the parent, initial the box where students record the date the book was completed. Happy Reading!
